George Inlet Cruise & Crabbing Adventure

The Wilderness Exploration & Crab Feast brings you right to the heart of Southeast Alaska and the awe-inspiring Tongass National Forest. Feel the pioneer spirit of those who live and work on her coastal waters and experience a day in the life of a local Alaskan.

If you want to be hands-on, make sure to volunteer to pull up crab pots from the abundant waters surrounding Revillagigedo Island, overflowing with delicious Dungeness crab. Breathe in the fresh air and spectacular scenery as your crew shares stories and the history of this magnificent waterway.

No Alaskan crabbing excursion would be complete without a meal featuring fresh Dungeness crab served with a Romaine salad with homemade dressing, and a scrumptious cheesecake with blueberry topping for dessert to round out this hearty meal.   A fine ending to any day on the sea. This feast tends to be a very robust gathering and has been called a “rowdy good time!” Your hosts lead you through a panorama of local tall tales, then demonstrate the easiest way to crack your crabs!

The remote location only adds to your dining pleasure at the rustic yet elegant George Inlet Lodge. This historic building was once an old cannery bunkhouse located 90 miles away. Two local businessmen moved the bunkhouse to its the present location at the site of an old gold mine. The lodge’s warmth and charm create a relaxing experience that is sure to be the highlight of your Alaskan journey. Last but not least, check out the gift shop for a special souvenir for your trip.
